34 Weeks

Size of baby: 18-20 inches long and 5-5.5 lbs… about the size of a cantaloupe. (Uh… that’s one huge cantaloupe!)
Symptoms: The rib pain came back a little this week. I have a little heartburn and a lot of fatigue too. I fell asleep in the middle of my criminal procedure reading the other day (which isn’t typical for me).
Fetal Movement: She’s really been hurting me a lot lately! She scooches  her little bum or something against my belly and pushes so hard. She’s had the hiccups a lot lately too.
Sleep: I think I’m approaching the “terrible” stage. I just can’t get comfortable and I wake up with so much back pain.
Cravings: Hmm… nothing really. I thought I was supposed to be craving all sorts of crazy stuff while pregnant but I seem to be missing this stage.
Aversions: The smell of pot roast totally grosses me out still.
Belly button: It has completely flattened out. I think we’ll have an outie any day now.
Best moment this week: Getting a few more things together for the nursery. :)
What I Look Forward To: My doctor’s appointment next week. I really want to know what position Eva is in! I wish they’d let me see her.
Other interesting facts about this week: Although I’m still 3 weeks away from being “full term,” if I were to go into labor at 34 weeks the doctors would not try to stop it. If Eva were to be born in the next three weeks she’d still be considered a premie, but she’d be pretty healthy and probably wouldn’t have to spend too much time in the hospital (unless there are other problems with her).
