Danielle at Sometimes Sweet invited her followers to write a “currently” post, and I thought it’d be a great opportunity for a quick update, so here it goes…

Obsessing over: Instagram! I’ve been wanting an iphone forever, largely because I wanted instagram. There was never any app on Android that just quite cut it. Stoked it’s finally available! Also… my Moby wrap. I can’t get over how much my baby and I love it!

Working on: About a zillion things at once! I’m trying to catch up on homework and at the same time start preparing for finals. I can’t believe that in just about a month I will be a law school graduate and finally finished with school. Pretty crazy. I’m also working on planning on working on a few blog posts, such as a new “fit friday” feature I’ll be starting, and one about Eva’s ONE MONTH birthday, which is coming up (…eek!). I’ll also be writing guest posts on two other blogs, which I really need to polish up and send in. All the while I’m working on getting back in shape and learning how to be a mom. All this can be pretty overwhelming when I’m living my life in 2.5 hour increments.

Well, sometimes I multitask.

Anticipating: graduation. My daddy & stepmom will be visiting from Texas, which I’m really excited about because I haven’t seen them since Christmas and they haven’t met their first granddaughter yet. It’s still a month away, though, so maybe I should try anticipating something that will be happening sooner, like… my 25th birthday! April 27th! Or maybe something even sooner, like MY FIRST SURF SINCE I WAS 12 WEEKS PREGNANT! Yes, I know, the doc said to wait 6 weeks, but I’m sick of waiting and I feel fine. I’m going this weekend!

Listening To: Jarabe de Palo. I’ve been trying to speak to baby Eva in Spanish as much as possible and I thought it’d be worthwhile to play her some Spanish music as well. I first heard it when I was studying abroad in the Galapagos Islands, Ecuador, and I absolutely love it! It’s sort of like Jack Johnson-y style music.

Looking For: a new gym! As I mentioned in my Post-Baby Boot Camp Post, I’m currently gymless thanks to the new UFC B.J. Penn gym that was supposed to be open by now. Eva and I went on a walk down to the YMCA today but the childcare facilities they have there don’t accept babies under 3 months. Boo. I really don’t want to sign up for 24 Hour Fitness again. So the search continues…

Eating: clean!!! I’ve really been sticking to my plan lately and I’ve already lost a pound since Monday. Lots of chicken, tuna, eggs, protein shakes, fruits & veggies. More on that tomorrow…

Wishing: that it was August so that I could not only be graduated, but finished with the Bar Exam and have all the time in the world to finally relax for a bit. I’m looking forward to having more time to spend with my baby, work out, get better at photography, finish the latest Palahniuk book, catch up on my shows (like Mad Men… which everyone seems to be talking about lately except me), and just veg out in general for a while. I think I deserve it.

Thinking about: Well, now that you mention it, I’m thinking about how I shouldn’t be blogging right now! I need to get to work!

    • Yes, in fact I’m not doing the workouts I posted yet (because I’m gymless) but I’m still following the meal plan. A good rule of thumb is to eat as many grams of protein as you weigh. For example, if you weigh 140lbs you should try and get 140g of protein a day. The reason is that protein takes longer to digest than carbohydrates. The more protein you eat, the longer you will feel full and the less likely you are to overeat. Carbohydrates digest really quickly and are more likely to be stored as fat if you don’t use them immediately. Some women worry that too much protein or lifting weights will make them “big,” but women don’t have the required hormones to bulk up with muscles. Women who want a super muscular appearance usually have to take supplements like creatine. Hope that helps. 🙂
