Happy October! I know that Halloween seems to be a lot of people’s favorite holiday, but I really don’t think most people can comprehend what this time of year means to me. As you can probably tell just by looking at the layout of my blog, I adore all things horror. I love the art and culture and I celebrate it year-round. In fact, Halloween and Dia de los Muertos are the only two holidays I do not have to decorate my house for. Last time my husband counted, there were around 50 calaveras throughout our home. Everything from dish soap dispensers to paintings and even our baby’s nursery revolves around this theme. That’s why I’m so excited about my little blog’s third giveaway (no, I don’t do these often). About the Photographer:
Jill of Adore du Jour Photo was born & raised in Buffalo, NY and has been experimenting with digital photography for nearly a decade. Her photography has been displayed at a group exhibit of the staff at the Albright Knox Art Gallery, the group exhibit “Awakening” at the 464 Gallery and the exhibit “In a Different Light: Photography by Jill Greenberg and Chelsea Kedron” at the Karpeles Manuscript Library Museum, North Hall. She has been a photographer for the official student newspaper, The Oracle, at SUNY New Paltz and the official student newspaper, The Record, at Buffalo State College. Her photographs have been featured on the cover of and as accompaniment to articles for Artvoice where she works and has a photography blog. In December 2011 she collaborated with local artists to create the Queen City Market, which features all local craft artisans, fine artists, vintage sellers, & more.
