37/52 {baby/toddler/life updates}

This was actually a pretty fun week for us. Eva turned 2 1/2. We visited the Botanical Gardens in Richmond and went apple picking at a farm. There was a blip of time where we were told it might be time for us to pack up and move again. It isn’t going to end up happening after all, but it made me realize how much I still have left to do here. Yes, it’s a drive to get anywhere around my area. Yes, I’ll likely have to sit in gridlock forever. But I’ve decided I need to do these things before the cold weather gets here and/or it’s time for us to move again. So at least once a week I will be doing something fun with the kids in either DC or Richmond until the snow comes. Here’s what last week looked like…

I can’t believe I have a 2.5 year old! We celebrated by making cupcakes. Eva picked the batter and icing, which was funfetti and hot pink. Her choice doesn’t surprise me one bit. 🙂

Damian had his 4-month check-up on Monday. He weighed in at 17.5lbs! Yeay for a plump little baby. He was much happier this week than the last few weeks, because he’s finally 100% over his illness. He is also becoming more and more independent as far as being able to entertain himself with toys and sort of moving around (scooting and rolling), so that’s making things easier as well. He still has his moments where he just wants to be held for hours at a time, though, so I strap him in a baby carrier and get things done!
