22 Weeks

Size of baby: 11 inches and 1 pound (about the size of a spaghetti squash).
Symptoms: Braxton Hicks contractions, backaches
Bellybutton: Wide and shallow… I think it’s going to be an outie soon!
Fetal Movement: Lots and lots of movement! I love it. She’s been kicking me really hard, once it even woke me up from my sleep. D puts his hand on my belly every night and feels her kicking before he goes to bed.
Cravings: Hmm… I can’t think of any this week.
Best Moment this Week: Welp! We signed the lease on a house in town. We’re officially going to be “townies.” We scored a 3 bedroom single family house for about $700/month less than we’re paying now for our 3 bedroom townhouse. It’s  a lot older and a little smaller but it has a huge backyard and I’m really excited about it. I’m happy I won’t have to spend a couple of hours driving every day when I’m big & when the baby gets here. I’m going to miss the East Side (my favorite part of this island) but it’ll be worth it.
What I Look Forward To: Moving into our new house & getting started on decorating everything, especially the nursery!!!

Happy Halloween! & Weekend Recap

HaPpY HaLLoWeeN!
Here’s what me & baby Eva wore to the Haunted House fundraiser that was held again this weekend.

Last weekend went by pretty fast. On Friday we had our big appointment! Here are some pictures of Baby Eva that I hadn’t posted yet:

Skeleton baby! Just in time for Halloween!
Baby’s perfect little foot. I can’t wait to give it kisses.
I was kind of disappointed with the pictures that the ultrasound tech got. There were some pretty amazing images on the screen when she was doing the testing but the ones she chose to print out were pretty blurry. I feel like the last ultrasound tech we had did a much better job. Oh well.
On Friday after the ultrasound we went to Target and started the baby’s registry. It was so fun holding that little laser gun and scanning away. There wasn’t all that much stuff we liked, which we anticipated with our unique taste, so we started an Amazon registry as well. Amazon lets you add stuff from every other online store which is pretty cool. I have found so much cute stuff for baby Eva, especially from Etsy and Roxy.
I don’t get out of class until 6:45 tonight but I’m going to try and rush home so I don’t miss too many adorable trick-or-treaters. Can’t wait! I love Halloween.

21 Weeks

Size of baby: 10 1/2 inches long (the length of a carrot) and a little over 14 ounces
Gender: GIRL!!! ♥  ♥
Symptoms: Mild heartburn, backaches
Fetal Movements: My tiny baby is moving around so much lately, even during the day. I not only feel her moving, but I feel her rolling and shifting around. So crazy!

Cravings: Broccoli and Cheese Soup, Mexican Food

Aversions: Still the same. I also can’t stand the smell of Pot Roast anymore, which sucks because I used to loove it.

Best Moment This Week: Seeing my beautiful baby girl on the sonogram. It’s so crazy how deliberate and controlled her movements are. She had her little feet crossed “indian style,” she was making sucking/swallowing motions with her mouth, she was putting her little hand on her face and then punching mama’s uterus. I can’t wait to hold her and give her a million kisses.

What I Look Forward To: SHOPPING! We already started shopping a little but we’re trying to pace ourselves. I’ll post pictures of what we’ve bought so far later. I have already put tons of things on my Amazon and Target baby registries so we’re hesitant to buy too much stuff until after my baby shower in December. I’ve discovered that Roxy has the CUTEST baby girl clothes. This is going to be one spoiled baby girl!

Other interesting facts about this week: Although my baby is not considered to have reached the point of viability yet, the youngest premie to ever survive outside the womb, Amalia Taylor, was born at this stage in her development at 21 weeks and 6 days. She was 10 ounces (4 ounces less than what my baby is measuring right now) and 9.5 inches.

Words of Wisdom for the Week: Feeling my baby moving around nonstop and seeing her on the screen and finding out she’s a baby girl has made everything seem even more real. I can’t wait to meet her already!!! (I don’t know if these are “words of wisdom” but it’s what has been on my mind! heehee)
