14 weeks

Size of Baby: 3 1/2 Inches – About the size of a clenched fist.
Sleep: Not so good. I’ve been having body aches and it’s been really hard for me to get comfortable.
What I miss: surfing, skating, sprinting, Monsters, Jack & coke
Cravings: Mexican food. I can’t wait to get back home already.
Symptoms: I haven’t really had any symptoms other than the body aches.
Fetal Movement: I was lying in bed the other night and I thought I felt flutters. From what I’ve read, though, it’s still too early to feel them. I don’t know what else it could have been though. It definitely wasn’t gas, as it was a completely different feeling. I guess it could have just been organs moving around or something.
Best Moment This Week: I had fun shopping at the Target baby sale and buying my little belly monster stuff.

13 weeks

Size of baby: 3 inches- About the size of a medium shrimp.
Sleep: Alright.
What I miss: The usual: deli meat, Monster energy drinks, sushi, wine.
Cravings: Oscar Meyer bologna sandwich on white bread with ruffles chips inside.
Symptoms: I have felt pretty good all week, besides being pretty tired. I think I’d be tired even if I wasn’t pregnant, though, with the way my week went.
Best Moment this week: Well I think I made it to my second trimester. So many different resources say different things. Some say the second trimester begins at the end of Week 12, while others say it begins at the end of Week 13. I’m going to go with WebMD and the Mayo Clinic, which both say I’m now in my second trimester. 🙂

12 weeks

 Me at 12 weeks:
No real baby bump yet, but definitely no ab definition anymore, and the pooch is getting poochier.

Size of baby: 2 inches – About the size of a peach.

Sleep: I don’t know if it’s from pure exhaustion but I’ve been sleeping a lot better lately. I only get up about once to go pee now.

What I miss: I STILL miss Monster Energy Drinks, sushi, turkey sandwiches, Four Lokos, and just about everything else I can’t have.

Cravings: Mexican food. the real kind, from back home.

Symptoms: I’m still pretty tired all the time, but it seems to be getting better. I’m getting weaker and weaker in the gym, which is pretty frustrating. The nausea is getting a lot better, and I’ve almost made it through my entire first trimester without puking!

Best Moment this week: Seeing my baby for the first time on the ultrasound- So amazing!

I’m also just really stoked to make it to this point in the pregnancy. It is considered the “safe zone.” Many women wait until they’re 12 weeks pregnant to tell anyone, which is what I originally wanted to do, because that’s when the risk of losing the baby drastically decreases. After seeing the baby this week and knowing I made it to week 12, I finally feel like I can relax (about that particular worry, at least).

First Pictures

I had my first ultrasound yesterday. It was so amazing. The baby was moving around so much, flailing his/her little arms and legs. The doctor measured the baby at 11 weeks and 2 days old. That means I have an official due date- 3/11/12. I’m already in love. 🙂
